For many children in our community, home is not a safe place to learn. After-school care provides the structure, safety, and nourishment that make real education possible.
Through the Children's Empowerment program, Five Plus Two Ministries sponsors vulnerable children into registered after-school care facilities. Here, each child receives dedicated homework assistance, a nutritious daily meal, and the kind of structured, caring environment that helps young minds flourish.
We currently support 17 children through this program. These are children from single-parent households, families in crisis, and homes where a parent is working long hours simply to keep food on the table. For their mothers — many of whom are rebuilding their lives through Zoé House — the after-school program is not just childcare. It is the peace of mind that makes everything else possible.
The care facilities we partner with are registered and staffed by trained practitioners. Children are supervised, stimulated, and loved. They complete their homework, eat well, and play in a safe environment — returning home to their families ready for the evening ahead.
An investment in a child's early years is an investment that multiplies for generations.
